Following a successful proof of concept, West Glamorgan Safeguarding partnership are in the final stages of deploying MAST – the Multi Agency Safeguarding Tracker. This will see a live data driven safeguarding solution, bringing together headline data from across key partners on a daily basis, to support decision making, inform practice, improve information sharing and a raft of other benefits.
“Safeguarding is ever-broadening in terms of the spectrum of harms and abuse that we are charged to respond to as local authorities and safeguarding boards. Not everyone will be on the same IT system, and what MAST does is join the data up. MAST provokes and prompts professional judgement, speeding up the interaction between the partnership. MAST interfaces the data, which naturally interfaces the partnership, and really connects it up as it should be. It shines the right light on the issues that we really do want to understand across the partnership.”
In the following video clips, Chris Frey Davies, PO Safeguarding and QA (Neath Port Talbot CBC) & Chair of the Quality Practice Management Group (WGSB) explains the motivations behind bringing the partners together to deliver MAST, where, how and when the data will be used, information and IT processes, expected benefits and more.
