Cyber attack tools readily available on the dark web
A recent article from Digit News shows another worrying threat to the cyber landscape – the readily available nature of various cyber attack tools on the dark web. Ranging from phishing, Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, ransomware and many more, people can purchase a variety of packs and tools that can cost as little as $50.
These can contain ransomware with source code and material which can trigger a Virtual private network (VPN) breach – all of which are sophisticated mechanisms designed to inflict as much damage as possible and at a fraction of the cost.
What this highlights is the growing ease for anyone to become a cyber attacker – no longer limited to a specific group of people, it opens up the possibility of this circle expanding even further and for cyber attacks to continue rising. Added to this, it only increases the need for us to be more vigilant to any attacks and effective cyber training can help you to identify the most prominent methods used by hackers – visit our CC2i Fundamentals page for more information.
